After a recent visit to Auschwitz, which charges visitors to use the toilet, billionaire electric vehicle (EV) mogul-turned social media kingpin Elon Musk is cracking down on “antisemitism and hate speech” on his X (formerly Twitter) platform.
X CEO Linda Yaccarino, a pro-censorship globalist stooge who was appointed by Musk himself, announced that following Musk’s visit to Auschwitz, there are going to be a lot of changes coming to the social media platform.
Using masterful manipulation of the English language, Yaccarino issued a statement claiming that she sides with “information independence” over “a future dependent on gatekeepers and moderators that restrict the free flow of information” – except when “hate” is involved.
“As someone whose career was built around entertainment and news organizations I know the impact information can have on communities and culture,” Yaccarino said. “Joining X has been liberating, because it’s a place for everyone to freely be themselves. That freedom and society’s progress requires information independence: the free exchange of ideas, information and knowledge through freedom of speech.”
From there, Yaccarino took a not-so-subtle deep dive into what she actually believes once you peel back the layers of her rhetorical deception:
“To drive humanity forward, society must empower people to express their thoughts, make up their own minds, but also draw the line at hate. This is tough to do, but absolutely critical.”
(Related: Remember when Ben Shapiro had a meltdown after Candace Owens used the Bible to rebuke him over his stance on the Israel-Gaza war?)
Seeing as how “hate” is an arbitrary word that is subjectively defined, it is a convenient catch-all for promoting censorship, as Yaccarino is doing, while also allowing the one pushing for censorship to claim to support free speech.
Yaccarino’s statement would go on and on to clarify what her version of “free speech” actually means – and it is anything but free speech.
“Heavy content filtering practices of some platforms and media entities have altered people’s understanding of the truth,” Yaccarino complains, adding that people need “accurate” information in order “to make their own goals.”
Sure, Yaccarino also threw in the word “unfiltered” to describe the type of information that people need, but proceeded to then apply the word “accurate” as well, “accurate” implying that gatekeepers and moderators – the very people Yaccarino previously spoke against – are needed to maintain “accuracy.”
Unpacking the word salad of the rest of Yaccarino’s speech is pointless as you probably already get the idea. She blabs on and on about the Oct. 7 “terrorist attack” that has caused, in her view, “antisemitism and hate speech” to have “accelerated in the world.”
“Our mandate at X is clear: we must protect free speech, safeguard information independence while tackling antisemitism and hate speech,” she would write towards the conclusion of her statement.
Many X users were rightfully critical of Yaccarino and Musk’s hypocrisy on all this, especially in light of the fact that X only seems to have a problem with “hate speech” directed at Jews.
In an experiment, a user named “SampsonSeville” (@SampsonSeville) wrote the same “hateful” phrase against a variety of people groups and religions, including Hindus, non-atheists, Christians, Muslims and Jews. Only the tweet directing “hate” at Jews was given a special warning and restrictions:
“Visibility limited: this Post may violate X’s rules against Hateful Conduct.”
What is worse, the @SampsonSeville account was asked specifically concerning the “hateful” post against Christians if the account wanted to “Add another post,” encouraging the further spread of anti-Christ “hate.”
